5 Best Karaoke Songs for Baritone Emos

Nothing hurts more than your teenage existential angst… except for trying to keep up vocally with Brendon Urie. It's tough being a baritone Emo. We all can remember a time during a quick karaoke sesh when the group gathers to sing an MCR song and you just have to get as nasally as you can and pray to hit those high notes as you thrash your pipes in the process.

Next time, try one of these songs so you can show off your singing abilities as well as how much you are deeply affected by anything and everything around you.

Really, you could choose any Alkaline Trio song and be set. Lead singer Matt Skiba is the quintessential baritone emo (don't let his recent masquerading as Tom DeLonge fool you), but "Radio" is basically a baritone's dream. The first half sits comfortably in our register and is sung at such a slower pace than a traditional emo song that it really lets you luxuriate in the notes. The second half pitches up and gives you a difficult but attainable challenge, and one that doesn't destroy your vocal cords for the rest of the night.

2. A Mark Hoppus Supercut

I'm not sure this exists as I can't find one after an initial youtube search. Nonetheless! You should always check in with the DJ or karaoke robot or whatever is running the show to see if they have some sort of combo that includes Mark's bits from "I Miss You," "Stay Together for the Kids," "Dammit," "Adam's Song," "Josie," and "Apple Shampoo." Some of you may be wondering why I don't just pick +44 song. You pick a +44 song and go karaoke it. Yeah. That's what I thought!
